Jose Mendoza Lopez was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during the Battle of the Bulge at Krinklet, Belgium, during World War II. As a sergeant of the 2nd Infantry Division, SGT Lopez single handedly repulsed a German Infantry attack using his heavy machine gun, killing at least 100 enemy troops. SGT Lopez's gallantry was responsible for allowing his company to withdraw and for other forces to build a line to repel the enemy attack. Fight Tonight!
