The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit's Maritime Raid Force Marines, sourced by Force Reconnaissance Company, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, boarded a vessel during a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure exercise as part of Realistic Urban Training at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., July 15, 2014. VBSS operations are primarily conducted by the Maritime Raid Force for the purpose of Maritime Interdiction Operations. Scout snipers with the unit's Ground Combat Element, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, provided cover from UH-1Y Hueys. RUT is the first major pre-deployment training exercise for the 24th MEU in preparation for their deployment later this year. Also available in high definition.
