The 738th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron was inactivated on June 12, 2014 as the advising mission moved from a level one (one on one everyday advising) to a level two (a few times a week consultation) mission requiring less man power and is hoping to move to a level three (on call support) mission in the future.
AAF cadets are held high standards in regards to physical training, education and military customs and courtesies in preparation to become officers in the Afghan Air Force. Nearly 1,000 cadets are being trained to become pilots, mechanical and finance officers in the AAF. Upon graduation from the 12-month academy, the cadets will transfer to technical schools to continue learning job skills while serving in the operational Afghan Air Force.
