Air Force Academy Cadets from the Falcon football team and cheer & dance squad assist in mitigating water run-off in the Waldo Canyon burn scar area in Colorado. A fire that burned 29 square miles and destroyed over 340 homes back in June-July of 2012. Cadets built log erosion barriers, a method of reducing setiment run-off in the Wellington Gulch. The effort reduces down stream flooding and erosion of the hillsides still recovering from the forest fire.
