CAPE MAY, N.J. - Recruits from Coast Guard Training Center Cape May call "Coast Guard on the Scene," which is the third of five Coast Guard marching cadences nominated for Coast Guard Boot Camp's Top Cadence of 2012.The cadence chronicles the last moments of the life of the Coast Guard's only Medal of Honor recipient who was killed during World War II evacuating a group of Marines from a beachhead at Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands.
