First Army recognizes Lt. Gen. Michael S. Tucker as the unit's new commander during an assumption of command ceremony at Rock Island Arsenal, Ill., Aug. 23. First Army's two divisions and 16 brigades mobilize, train, validate, deploy and demobilize all Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve forces throughout the continental United States, providing trained and ready forces for diverse missions worldwide.
