Multi-Discipliinary Simulation Training Center Exercise
Medical Simulations Partnership for Improvement of Deploying Combat Support Hospital Readiness.
Purpose: To provide high-fidelity team experience, specifically in the operating room, emergency room, and ancillary support staffs, enhancing unit readiness for deployed missions
Army Reserve Medical Command executed a medical simulations exercise from 12-15APR2013 at the Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation Center (MMSC), Rochester, MN, to provide a high-fidelity training event to hospital clinical teams comprised of patient care providers from Emergency Medical Treatment (EMT), Operating Room (OR), the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ancillary functions from Pharmacy, Laboratory and X-Ray (PLX), and administrative functions of Mission Command / Leadership and Patient Administration (PAD).
The Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation Center in Minnesota comprises 10,000 square feet of training space. The facility is available to all members of the health care team. Training is team-based whenever possible.
The simulation center includes four Simulation Suites: Operating Room Suite, Cullinan & Falcon-Cullinan Emergency Room Suite, Intensive Care Unit Suite, and the Jilk Endovascular Suite. Each of these rooms closely mimics the clinical setting. Six Patient Rooms with attached observation areas also are included in the floor plan. Patient Rooms can be set as either inpatient or outpatient setting.
Equipment at the Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation CenterĀ in Rochester Minnesota utilizes all types of clinical equipment to closely mirror our clinical environment, including anesthesia machines, mechanical ventilators, defibrillators, perfusion simulators, and high-fidelity mannequins.
