The Maryland Army National Guard's 581st Troop Command hosted its first Norwegian Foot March for Charity, March 16, 2013 in La Plata, Md. There were over 400 participants comprised of U.S. and foreign military branches, and civilians. To qualify, participants followed Norwegian Army foot march standards to include carrying 25 pounds or more of non-perishable food for donation in their ruck sacks, and completing the foot march within specific age and gender limits over a distance of 18.6 miles. The donations will benefit the town of La Plata where the 253rd Engineer Company is located. Also available in high definition
