Colonel Joe Disalvo, Commander, Second Brigade, Third Infantry Division, talks to NBC reporter Richard Engle, from Camp Liberty in Baghdad. COL Disalvo answers questions about the reason for increased attacks on civilians, including the Mosque Bombing and the helicopter that was shot down. The Colonel characterizes increased attacks in general as desperation on the part of terrorist but says that terrorist activity has not increased in his area of responsibility. Also, he says civilians are more comfortable reporting terrorists and the Iraq security forces have increased their own activity of conducting security operations.
