Rod Adams, 55, from Oceanside, Calif., participates in an interview during a homecoming at Camp Pendleton, Calif., Dec. 20. Adams is the maternal grandfather of Alex Velasquez, 8, and Evan, 6-months. Both boys waited anxiously with their family to welcome their father home from Afghanistan. Their father was one of approximately 150 Marines with 9th Communications Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force, who arrive home just in time to spend the Christmas holiday with their loved ones.
