U.S. Soldiers, in Sendai as part of Joint Force Exercise Yama Sakura 63, tour the city and the local airport. The airport was severely damaged in the Great East Japan Flood of 2011 and, as part of Operation Tomodachi, symbolically opened the city for business only 30 days after the flood. The airport’s presentation focused on the damage to and reconstruction of the facilities. Soundbites include Army Capt. Zeke Pittard and Capt. Noboru Tanaka (Translated). Produced by Sgt. Anthony Jones. Also available in High Definition.
