    Soldiers of B Company, 1st Battalion (Airborne), 143rd Infantry Regiment, find a much deeper meaning in Veterans Day after returning from a yearlong deployment from Afghanistan Nov. 8.

    The Alaska National Guardsmen conducted security forces missions throughout dangerous areas of Afghanistan to ensure the safety of provincial reconstruction teams who are rebuilding the war-torn country.
