    26th Marine Expeditionary Unit     

    Marines and sailors of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conduct visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training aboard SS Cape Avinoff on the James River at Fort Eustis, Va., Sept. 25, 2012. VBSS is the term for maritime boarding actions and tactics designed to capture enemy vessels, to combat terrorism, piracy and smuggling; and to conduct customs, safety and other inspections. This training is part of the 26th MEU’s pre-deployment training program. The 26th MEU is slated to deploy in 2013. U.S. Marine Corps motion media by Cpl. Christopher Q. Stone.
