For the duration of approximately two weeks, Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's combat logistics element will conduct two engineer civil affairs projects at the elementary schools of of Mascarascas and Tagburos. With the installation of a new septic tank and leech field at one school and the construction of an outdoor seating area at the other, the quality of health and education will improve for the children and teachers alike. The ENCAP projects are part of the 31st MEU's Amphibious Landing Exercise, now in its 29th iteration, where U.S. forces work and train alongside their Filipino counterparts.
