The final phase of the six-week Rim of the Pacific 2012 exercise. Video includes amphibious vehicles landing at Pyramid beach on Marine Corps Base Hawaii after departing the nearby USS Essex. Also includes helicopter insertion of U.S. Marines from the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment along with partner nation forces. U.S., Australian, and other forces then participate in a live fire exercise that integrates all components of a ground assault force.
