Lt. Col. James "Jim" Routt pilots the aircraft from Camp Bastion, Afghanistan to Kandahar Air Field in order for patients to receive care at KAF medical treatment facility. Lt. Col. Routt is the oldest active flying pilot in the U.S. Air Force.
The 76th ERQS is designed to rapidly mobilize, deploy, and execute CSAR operations worldwide in support of national security interests. During this deployment the 71st RQS Moody Air Force Base, GA., has joined teams with medical teams from National Guard units and Active Duty units across the U.S. to transport critical care patients from remote locations to larger operating bases with established medical facilities.
