The Iowa National Guard redeployed 2,800 2nd Brigade Combat Team soldiers earlier this year from Afghanistan. The BCT performed combat and humanitarian missions while there. Another, much smaller army and air national guard group took on a more grassroots mission away from the BCT, as an agri-business development team. They spent the year fostering relations and exchanging knowledge and ideas on a farmer's level. Cheif of the national guard bureau, Gen. Craig McKinley, spoke recently while traveling in Iowa to the importance the A-D-T's have in the ongoing effort in Afghanistan. Available in High Definition.
