Vietnam veteran U.S. Army Spc. 5 Roger Lockshier arrived at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, in January 1967. Serving as a crew chief and door gunner, Lockshier supported combat operations in Vietnam and was shot down following the Tet Offensive. During his service, he worked extensively alongside the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG), contributing to joint unconventional warfare missions.
