Kenya Defence Forces Col. Maurice Ng’ang’a, commander of the 8th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, speaks about the first-time integration of the Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems–Extended (BICES-X) and artificial intelligence tools used to generate realistic multinational battlefield scenarios during a Justified Accord 2026 command post exercise (CPX) during Justified Accord 2026 at the Humanitarian Peace Support School, Nairobi, Kenya, March 9, 2026. The CPX incorporated artificial intelligence integration, the multinational military decision-making process, staff operations synchronization, operations order development, and practical exercises. The training enhanced coordination among partner forces and improved readiness and interoperability of the U.S. joint force and regional partners.
JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by SETAF-AF, and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya, and Tanzania, JA26 is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa. (U.S. Army video by Spc. Beverly Roche)
