The advise and assist and team from 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force took part in a three-day mission support exercise April 27 – April 29, at Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex. The MSE is a capstone evaluation event conducted by the Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group. The advise and assist team goes through two weeks of various classes and training before participating in the three-day exercise. This training teaches Marines how to most effectively work together with foreign security forces with a different cultural aspect.
Two battalions from the Republic of Georgia completed a Mission Readiness Exercise (MRE) aboard Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC), Hohenfels, Germany, Feb. 23. The MRE was the capstone event for the battalions before their deployment to Afghanistan.
