    From World War II to the Global War on Terrorism, Dover AFB’s rapid global mobility mission has been at the forefront of American military might. Dec. 17, 2016, marks 75 years of American Air Power in Dover, Delaware. Just 10 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Municipal Airport, Dover Airdrome, opened on Dec. 17, 1941, and was assigned to the 1st Air Force.
