The holiday season has come and gone, but these volunteers are delivering the most precious of gifts to elderly members of the Songtan community. They are delivering yeon-tan, which are Korean coals used to heat their homes, they’re also used for cooking fires. The gift of coal doesn’t exactly have a positive connotation in American culture, but in this case, its how low-income households......

As part of the status of forces agreement, American Security Forces are allowed to patrol off-base areas that are frequented by USFK personnel. They do this in cooperation with the Korean police to ensure the safety of everyone downtown. This video shows one patrol making their rounds through the entertainment district of Songtan....
