FORT HOOD, Texas - Maj. Gen. Mark A. Milley's will assume command of III Corps and Fort Hood in an assumption of command ceremony 10 a.m. Dec. 20 at the III Corps Headquarters flagpole, here.
Milley relinquished command of the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y., to Maj. Gen. Stephen J. Townsend during a change of command ceremony Dec. 3.
Prior to the outdoor ceremony, Milley will be promoted to lieutenant general in a ceremony in the West Atrium of the III Corps Headquarters.
Media desiring to cover the assumption of command should register here no later than 5 p.m. Dec. 18. The gate time is 9:15 a.m. at the south-side parking lot of the visitor’s center.
