Senior Master Sgt. Krzywicki to appear at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

JOINT BASE ANACOSTIA BOLLING, Va. - Philadelphia’s own Philip Krzywicki is slated to perform for more than 53 million estimated spectators as part of the United States Air Force Band’s appearance at the 86th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Nov. 22, in New York City.

Senior Master Sgt. Krzywicki joined the United States Air Force Band in October of 1995 as the fourth horn in the Concert Band after earning a Bachelor of Music degree in french horn performance at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. After graduation, he spent several years freelancing throughout the Philadelphia region and performed for two years with La Orquesta Sinfonica de Sevilla in Spain.

“Over my past 17 years in the Band, I have performed in the parades for numerous presidential inaugurations which have always been an honor, but I have never had the pleasure before of participating in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” said Krzywicki. “It’s really fun to be a part of this event now, especially after the joy of watching it on TV for so many years. I am also happy to be given this opportunity to proudly represent to millions of viewers the dedicated professional men and women in the world’s greatest Air Force.”

The parade begins at 9 a.m. East Coast time, and will be broadcast on many television stations.

Located at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, D.C., the United States Air Force Band’s mission is to honor those who have served, inspire American citizens to heightened patriotism and service, and positively impact the global community on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States.

The band is the Air Force's premier musical organization. The excellence demonstrated by the band's airmen musicians is a reflection of the excellence carried out 24 hours a day by airmen stationed around the globe. Each member is proud to represent all airmen, whose selfless service and sacrifices ensure the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States.

Since its formation in 1941, this world-class organization has inspired billions of listeners through its exhilarating music, engaging concerts and masterful recordings and continues to positively impact the global community.
