Hoffmann to appear at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

JOINT BASE ANACOSTIA-BOLLING, D.C. - Pittsburgh’s own Dennis Hoffmann is slated to perform for more than 53 million estimated spectators as part of the United States Air Force Band’s appearance at the 86th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Nov. 22 in New York City.

Hoffmann joined the United States Air Force Band in 2001 as a percussionist after studying music at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

“There will be many different languages spoken by the viewers of the parade, but it is our honor in the USAF Band to communicate the excellence of the men and women of the Air Force through the universal language of music,” said Hoffmann.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. East Coast time, and will be broadcast on many television stations.

Located at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, D.C., the United States Air Force Band’s mission is to honor those who have served, inspire American citizens to heightened patriotism and service, and positively impact the global community on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States of America.

The band is the Air Force's premier musical organization. The excellence demonstrated by the band's Airmen musicians is a reflection of the excellence carried out 24 hours a day by Airmen stationed around the globe. Each member is proud to represent all Airmen, whose selfless service and sacrifices ensure the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States of America.

Since its formation in 1941, this world-class organization has inspired billions of listeners through its exhilarating music, engaging concerts and masterful recordings and continues to positively impact the global community.
