Matulewicz to appear at 86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

JOINT BASE ANACOSTIA-BOLLING, D.C. - Guilderland, New York’s own Joseph Matulewicz is slated to perform for more than 53 million spectators as part of the United States Air Force Honor Guard Parade Flight’s appearance at the 86th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Nov. 22 in New York City.

Tech. Sgt. Matulewicz joined the United States Air Force in January of 2000. After assignments in Texas and Japan, he transferred to the Honor Guard in May of 2006 where he represents airmen all across the service to the American public and the world as a ceremonial guardsman.

“I am very thankful for all the opportunities I have been given and this is one more that I will never forget,” said Matulewicz. “I am proud to represent all airmen past and present in the world’s greatest Air Force.”

The parade begins at 9 a.m. EST, and will be broadcast on many television stations.

Located at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, D.C., the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard leads the way as representatives of all airmen around the world, both past and present.

Now, as one of the Air Force's oldest organizations, the honor guard continues to serve the chief of staff of the Air Force as the face of the Air Force to the American and global public.

Airmen of every enlisted rank and both company and field grade officers volunteer and are competitively selected from their peers in more than 200 different Air Force career fields to serve in the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, making the honor guard the standard for discipline and military professionalism.
