Craft fair to showcase community interaction

MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. - The annual Holiday Craft and Shopping Fair will take place Nov. 17, 2012, in the Robert J. Dole Community Center.

Anyone with base access is encouraged walk through the hallways and view products displayed by approximately 40 vendors.

"Hosting the annual Holiday Shopping and Craft Fair is a great way to bring in local businesses and vendors to our military families," said Fe Vorderlandwehr, 22nd Force Support Squadron Community Center director. "It allows for great interaction between Team McConnell and the Wichita community. Plus, shopping is always fun!"

Homemade crafts will be available for purchase and home-based business will have booths set up to display and promote their products. Gently used items will also be for sale.

Elizabeth Hushour, owner of KJL Creations, has participated in the last two fairs.

"I am a strong believer in buying local for the holidays and all other occasions," said Hushour. "[These fairs] are an opportunity for the McConnell community to get to know the talent that exists here."

The fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
