Corps answers your permitting questions

PORTLAND, ORE. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a Regulatory permitting workshop Nov. 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Coos Bay Public Library, 525 Anderson Ave., Coos Bay, Ore.

Corps of Engineers regulatory experts will share tips and answer questions related to the Regulatory permitting process to include program requirements, timelines and processes. The workshop is intended for members of the public who are planning construction projects that could impact wetlands or waterways.

The workshop is free, but seating is limited. For more information call 541-756-2097.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in coordination with tribes, state and federal agencies, is responsible for protecting our nation's aquatic environment, including wetlands, while allowing reasonable development through fair, flexible and balanced permit decisions. We do this under the authorities of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 103 of the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act.
