CAMP FUJI, Japan -- More than one and a half hours by car from any other American installation, a group of Marines on Camp Fuji recently learned to handle emergency situations involving nuclear, biological and chemical leaks.
Three hazardous material instructors with the Coast Guard Pacific Strike Team based in Novato, Calif., instructed 18 Marines during a Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Course at Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji March 12-16. The team also taught the course to service members on Okinawa this week and will teach another course next week.
