AF commanders change in DCMA Middle East

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait - The Defense Contract Management Agency-Middle East underwent a change in U.S. Air Force leadership during a change of command ceremony Aug. 2 at the Embassy of the United States – Kuwait.

Air Force Col. Renee M. Richardson relinquished command to Air Force Col. Robert C. Menard. The Middle East Contract Management Office consists of a combined military and civilian workforce responsible for the management of contracts valued at more than $6 billion supporting troops throughout U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility.

“Over the last two years, through Col. Richardson's leadership and the tremendous efforts of the DCMA-ME team, we have effectively taken on management and oversight of some of the Department of Defense’s most critical contracts,” Navy Rear Adm. Robert J. Gilbeau, DCMA International commander, said. “This team's efforts have delivered millions of dollars in cost avoidance or savings while improving the support to our deployed soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and civilians.”

Prior to his arrival at DCMA-ME, Menard served as the chief of contracting, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, La.

“I look forward to working with the professionals of DCMA and our international partners in meeting the requirements of this dynamic environment,” Menard said.
