DES MOINES, Iowa- Col. Arlan M. DeBlieck will be promoted to brigadier general during a ceremony scheduled for Aug. 26, at 9 a.m. on Camp Dodge.

On May 25, 2012, the U.S. Senate confirmed the nomination of Col. Arlan M. DeBlieck for promotion to brigadier general and he was also selected to command the 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), which is a U.S. Army Reserve unit based in Des Moines. DeBlieck resides in Indianola, Iowa, and is the first Iowan selected to command the 103rd ESC.

The 103rd ESC has 62 subordinate units and 5,300 soldiers located in seven states. There are approximately 300 personnel assigned to the headquarters in Des Moines.

Maj. Gen. Peter S. Lennon, Commanding General, 377th Theater Sustainment Command, located in Belle Chasse, La., will host the ceremony.

Members of the media and public are invited to attend. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and will be held at the Pool Pavilion on Camp Dodge, located at 7105 NW 70th Avenue, Johnston, Iowa 50131.

Enter Camp Dodge through the main gate at NW 70th Avenue, Johnston. Photo identification (a driver’s license is acceptable) is required for admittance to Camp Dodge for individuals 16 years of age and older.
