Fish shelter placement permits to be issued

PLAINVIEW, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers Blue Mountain Lake Field Office will be issuing permits for placement of fish shelters on Blue Mountain Lake. Permits will be issued for two weeks, starting Friday, Aug. 17. All permits will expire, Sunday, Sept. 2.

Permits will authorize the use of all-terrain vehicles to access the shoreline for placement of fish shelters in the lakebed during the drawdown. Applicants can obtain a list of suitable building materials and locations for placement when applying for a permit.

Those interested in obtaining fish shelter placement permits may stop by the Blue Mountain Lake Field Office at 10152 Outlet Park Road in Havana, Ark. Office hours are from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., weekdays.
