KABUL, Afghanistan -- International Security Assistance Force condemns the indirect fire attacks from across the Durand Line. We continue to work with the Afghan Ministry of Defense, and the Pakistan government to ensure an end of these attacks. The Tripartite Commission meetings (Afghanistan, Pakistan, and ISAF) offer opportunities to discuss wide-ranging issues of tactical, operational and strategic importance. These ongoing discussions underscore the importance of working together on the opportunities and challenges facing Afghanistan in the days, months, and years to come.
ISAF also welcomes the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ recent announcement of talks to be held between the officials of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Government of Pakistan.
All of these engagements are instrumental to the continued progress we are making toward securing the sovereignty of Afghanistan, the safety of the Afghan people, and our shared goals of a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan.
