KABUL, Afghanistan – The Afghan Special Operations Unit, supported by coalition troops, arrested a Haqqani explosives expert during an operation in Khost district, Khost province, today.
The explosives expert was responsible for constructing and emplacing improvised explosive devices used in attacks against Afghan and coalition forces in the region. He also coordinated the transportation and distribution of explosives for insurgents throughout Khost.
The Afghan Special Operations Unit detained several other suspected insurgents and seized several weapons as a result of this operation.

In Pul-e ‘Alam district, Logar province, an Afghan and coalition security force detained several suspected insurgents during an operation to arrest a Haqqani leader, today. The security force also seized several weapons, grenades and explosives during the operation.
