LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Hot and dry weather is fueling demand for hydroelectricity at the White River lakes, which will result in lowering of lake levels in coming days and possibly weeks.

The Army Corps of Engineers is advising boat dock owners to keep an eye on their docks and move them as needed to prevent them from grounding as the lakes recede.

The Corps also advises boaters to slow down, wear life jackets, use depth finders and check with local marinas about possible trouble spots as the lake level recedes.
