Hoobler, a native of Canton, Ohio, is a member of the intelligence section of Hammer Company. Bourne, a native of Flint, Mich., is a health care specialist. Both soldiers re-enlisted for six years.
βIt was a very fun experience, a once in a lifetime opportunity,β said Bourne. βI hope my next re-enlistment is just as much fun.β
The unique opportunity was made possible by coordination from 1st Sgt. Kevin Hagelgans, senior non-commissioned officer of the company, and the aviation unit located on FOB Kunduz, Task Force Pirate.
The re-enlistment was conducted by Capt. John Keelean, HHC company commander.
