Background: The 99th RSC is officially beginning construction on a brand-new, state-of-the-art Armed Forces Reserve Center in Danbury.
This complex features a training facility with approximately 96,000 square feet, joint vehicle maintenance shop with approximately 18,000 square feet, and unheated storage building with approximately 3,000 square feet. Total project of $33.9 million was awarded to Korte-Fusco Joint Venture of St. Louis, in August 2011.
This complex is scheduled to be home to approximately 1,000 soldiers from the Army Reserve’s 417th Instructor Battalion, 411th Civil Affairs Company, 325th Military Intelligence Company and 325th Transportation Detachment, as well as the Connecticut Army National Guard’s 102nd Infantry Company and 142nd Medical Company.
The 99th RSC acts as a “virtual installation” that provides world-class Base Operations support to over 51,000 Army Reserve soldiers, 400 units and 300 facilities for the entire Northeast Region from Maine to Virginia for the Army Reserve in order to give our Warrior-citizens and their families the finest care, support, services and training.
