Buffalo-Based National Guard Engineers train in LaFarge Quarry

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard's 152nd Engineer Company will be conducting equipment training at the LaFarge Quarry in Niagara Falls the week of June 10-16.

Members of the press are invited to come observe the training and talk to soldiers on Tuesday, June 12.

WHO: Thirty-five soldiers of the 152nd Engineer Company of the 204th Engineer Battalion who are conducting Annual Training.

WHAT: The purpose of this training is to keep soldier's proficient in earth moving equipment operations for overseas and state side deployments. The 152nd was activated for a three-week period during in response to Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee and those skills were critical.

WHEN: Media members are invited from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.

WHERE: 8875 Quarry Road, Niagara Falls, N.Y. (Near the Niagara Air Reserve Station. It is on Lockport Road between Military Road, to the West and the intersection of Lockport Road and Porter Road to the South.)
