KABUL, Afghanistan – ISAF confirms that two individuals wearing Afghan Police uniforms turned their weapons against coalition service members in southern Afghanistan today, killing two service members.
One of the individuals who opened fire was killed when coalition forces returned fire; the second individual is being sought.
The incident is under investigation.
It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.
