FORT KNOX, Ky. - U.S. Army Top Fuel drivers Tony "The Sarge" Schumacher and Antron Brown were at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, N.C., Sunday, April 13, for the third annual NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, while U.S. Army NASCAR driver Ryan Newman traveled to Texas Motor Speedway outside of Fort Worth, Texas, Saturday night, April 12, for the Samsung Mobile 500.

Schumacher and Brown both advanced to the last foursome of the day along with Spencer Massey and Doug Kalitta, but they finished behind the event winner, Massey. Schumacher claimed the runner-up spot, while Brown collected semifinal-round points.

Newman, in his No. 39 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet, started from the sixth spot out in the Lone Star State but he fought an ill-handling car for much of the 334-lap race and ended up finishing 21st.

While Newman (ninth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings) will now head for Kansas Speedway next Sunday for the STP 400, Schumacher (second in Top Fuel points) and Brown (third in Top Fuel points) will take a weekend off before moving on to Royal Purple Raceway outside of Houston, April 27-29, for the O'Reilly Spring Nationals.
