Cherry Point hosts Boots and Booties Baby Shower

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. - Mothers from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River were treated to a “Boots and Booties Baby Shower” presented by Operation Homefront at Hancock Lodge aboard Cherry Point, Oct. 18.

“This event is for the families of the E-1 through E-6 community of all branches of government,” said Laura L. Kline, the Navy and Marine liaison with Operation Homefront. “We have been giving this group of military families help with finances and morale workshops since Sept. 11, 2001.” The families received gifts consisting of strollers, highchairs, baby bags and diapers said
Kline.

“These gifts are great ways to help out our junior Marines and their families,” said Carol E. Davis, the wife of Maj. Gen. Jon M. Davis, the commanding general of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. “It is a wonderful event that helps support our uptempo schedules.”

All applicants had or will have a baby between April 17, 2011
and April 17, 2012.
