Deputy chief of staff reflects on time with Third Army

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Col. Patrick P. Brewington, Third Army deputy chief of staff and a Fayetteville, N.C., native, took time to reflect on his successful tenure here throughout the last year.

“I’m pleased with what we accomplished in Third Army/CFLCC,” Brewington said. “I’m proud to have been a part of a great organization and thankful for the opportunity to serve with Great Americans.”

Brewington arrived here as Third Army’s DCOS June 2010. Having completed his successful term with Third Army, he will be moving on to become the chief of staff for the Missile Defense Agency in Huntsville, Ala.

Brewington’s discipline and motivation has proven to be vital in Third Army’s achievements over the last year. Being a team player was a big part of his success, he added.

“Teamwork is key,” Brewington noted. “We all have to remember we’re part of a team, and we all have to work together to be successful.”

With his departure shortly down the road, Brewington offered advice to Third Army soldiers looking to better themselves.

“Stay focused on the mission,” he stated. “Every soldier should recognize they have a contribution to make. Their hard work will make a difference every day in Third Army’s mission.”

Brewington is married to Susan Brewington of Clarksville, Tenn. Together they have two children; a son, Phillip, and daughter, Stephanie.

With leaders like Brewington within its ranks, Third Army is helping soldiers, the strength of our nation, to shape the future.
