CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Marines from 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion participated in a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program class where they battled each other with pugil sticks and practiced self-defense techniques and skills at Camp Pendleton, June 15.
The Marines work out during the course to improve their stamina to be able to continue fighting while tired.
The students also practice and rehearse techniques to ensure they are capable of performing each move.
MCMAP is designed to increase the Marines self-defense abilities at close ranges and to ensure Marines have the upper hand in close combat situations.
Throughout the course the students are mentored and tutored by their instructors to ensure Marines are capable of performing each technique associated with their belt level.
