FORT HOOD, Texas - The III Corps and Fort Hood Commander has directed a stand down day to train all Fort Hood soldiers on sexual assault and domestic violence May 26.

"Fort Hood has seen a continued presence of domestic violence and sexual assault incidents among all units at every level," Lt. Gen. Don Campbell Jr., III Corps and Fort Hood commander, said. "These incidents cause a great deal of strain on the force and their families. For commanders, it undermines trust in leadership; discipline among the ranks and directly affects readiness. That is why I have directed Fort Hood units to stand down operations for May 26 and conduct domestic violence and sexual assault training. It is imperative that we communicate to our service members and families the importance of these programs. Our goal is to bring about a change in domestic violence and sexual assault at Fort Hood. One incident is too many."

Media who wish to film training should register at the Fort Hood Press Center. The gate time is 8 a.m. at the southside parking lot of the visitor's center.
