FORT HUNTER LIGGETT, Calif. - The Mud Run is a great opportunity for some good ole clean “dirty” fun. It is a running course consisting of six miles of paved roads, dirt trails, water hazards and four mud pits that everyone gets to cross. This year there were over 2,000 participants and several different divisions to compete in.
The Fort Hunter Liggett Fire Department entered this year’s competition, as a team, in the Public Safety Division taking first place with a time of 45:22, averaging 8:43 per mile. “The first mile was tough but once you warmed up it was fun” said Andy Jones.
The Mud Run is held in Seaside, Calif., encompassing parts of old Fort Ord and the California State University Monterey Bay Campus. The Mud Run is an annual event hosted by the U.S. Army Garrison Presidio of Monterey, California State University and Monterey Bay.
