MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. – Capt. Arthur Q. Bruggeman, an AV-8B Harrier II pilot with Marine Attack Squadron 231, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, based out of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, will perform an AV-8B level III flight demonstration at the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S.C., Air Show, April 30.

The Harrier level III demonstration is one of the most sought-after aerial demonstrations offered by the U.S. military. Demonstrations are performed by the same aircraft and Marines who train and deploy in support of real-world contingencies, including on-going operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The purpose of level III demonstrations is to show the American public the skills of their Marine pilots and the capabilities of the world famous vertical-takeoff jet.

Bruggeman, from Quantico, Va., is one of a small, select group of pilots who are hand-picked by Headquarters Marine Corps to demonstrate the capabilities of the AV-8B Harrier II to the public.
Bruggeman currently serves as the quality assurance officer for VMA-231.
