BAGHDAD, IRAQ – Maj. Gen. Jennifer L. Napper, commanding general of the 9th Signal Network Enterprise Technology Command, based out of Fort Huachuca, Ariz., visited with Signal soldiers assigned to Camp Victory, February 19.

As part of the NETCOM Commanders’ visit to the base, Napper met with leadership from the 151st Expeditionary Signal Battalion’s Task Force Palmetto, which controls much of the strategic communications capabilities of the Department of Defense in the Iraqi Theater of Operations.

Napper was briefed by Lt. Col. Richard A. Wholey, Jr., Battalion Commander for the 151st ESB and toured one of the two Technical Control Facilities operated by Task Force Palmetto on Camp Victory.

Napper also had lunch with several of the enlisted Soldiers from the 151st ESB and afterwards, she and Command Sergeant Major Gerald Williams, the NETCOM Command sergeant major, spoke with the soldiers currently on the mission. The main focus of the time was to field questions and concerns from the soldiers on issues of signal personnel in the current operational environment.

The recent visit to Camp Victory marks the first time the NETCOM commanding general has been to the base since receiving her promotion to major general.
