ZABUL, Afghanistan – Members of the Afghan National Police and U.S. Navy SEALs killed eight insurgents Jan. 19 in Arghandab District, Zabul province.
The Afghan-led force was conducting a routine patrol to address villager’s concerns regarding security in this remote region of the country when they were engaged by an insurgent force. After returning fire, the combined force called in an air weapons team to suppress the enemy’s fire, killing the eight insurgents.
There were no civilian casualties or collateral damage during the engagement.
