The 2010 129th CSSB Holiday Reception

CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan – The soldiers of the 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion didn’t let being deployed dampen their holiday spirits. On Dec. 29, 2010 the battalion celebrated its annual Drive the Wedge Holiday Reception at Forward Operating Base Leatherneck, Afghanistan

Although it wasn’t banquet halls and Class-A Uniforms, the battalion made the most of what was available. They converted a large maintenance tent into a festive reception area filled with holiday decorations and Christmas lights and utilized the base’s dining facility for refreshments.

The reception gave soldiers of the battalion time to relax and socialize and allowed them to take a well deserved break from their everyday missions.

While speaking at the event Lt. Col. Daniel Rickleff, the Battalion Commander, and Command Sgt. Maj. John Seelhorst, the Battalion Command Sergeant Major, praised the soldiers for all of their efforts and thanked them for their continued service to a grateful nation.

The event was a tremendous success that was enjoyed by all that attended. The battalion looks forward to next year’s holiday reception back at Fort Campbell, Ky.
