MOSUL, Iraq " Members of the Irbil Provincial Police Transition Team conducted training for Iraqi police on Quick Reaction Force and Station Defense for the Irbil Provincial Headquarters.

The class went through a comprehensive course including barricade shooting, movement in firing teams, and transition fire.

The police broke down into fire teams and finished the class with multiple live fire exercises in the 'shoothouse". The Provincial Headquarters has now completed all its QRF training and has an effective team capable of responding to emergencies.

The team also trained 32 IPs in handcuffing techniques and compliant and non-compliant takedowns. All the IPs practiced these techniques after watching a step-by-step instruction.

This training gives Iraqi police the skills they need to be successful in providing security for a free Iraqi government.
